Library - Technology Library Manager

About the role

The Technology Library Manager oversees the Technology Library, providing advanced technological resources and services to county residents. Key responsibilities include leading a team, planning programs, and collaborating with external partners.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with the Library Services Director to align Technology Library goals with broader library system objectives and community needs.
• Supervises a team of professionals and paraprofessionals, focusing on customer service and training.
• Develops and promotes volunteer programs to enhance community involvement.
• Plans and evaluates technology education programs, aligning them with academic and workforce needs.
• Conducts community needs assessments and implements strategies to improve access for underserved populations.
• Schedules and coordinates the library's annual program calendar, ensuring resource allocation and patron satisfaction.
• Maintains technology systems and ensures safety and security measures are in place.
• Collaborates with schools, colleges, workforce boards, and employers to integrate advanced lab programs into curricula and skill development.
• Represents the Technology Library at community events and promotes its services.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in instructional design, information technology, library science, or a closely related field.
• Three years of instructional technology experience, with at least two years in a supervisory/managerial role.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Strong understanding of emerging technologies and trends.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical requirements include lifting up to 10 pounds frequently and standing/walking for extended periods.
