Library Media Specialist

Position Summary

Provides instruction in and access to library information resources and programs for students, staff and the entire school community.

Education Minimum Qualifications

• Master of Library Science (MLS), Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS), Master of Librarianship degree or the equivalent from an accredited college-level library program (Preferred)
• Masters degree in any subject and at least one of the following:
• Thirty (30) or more coursework hours related to library/media
• Fifteen (15) or more coursework hours related to library/media and one (1) year of relevant work experience
• Three (3) or more years of library/media related work experience and a letter from the district
• Enrolled in a Library Media or School Librarian certification program or Bachelors degree and enrolled in a Master of Library Science (MLS), Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS), Master of Librarianship, or the equivalent

Experience

• Previous experience working in a library or media related organization
• Possess or ability to obtain and maintain a valid Oklahoma Library Media Specialist certificate or waiver from OSDE
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred
