Seeds of Excellence Christian Academy in Austell, GA is hiring a Library Media Specialist to support daily operations at an early childhood education center. This position offers $35,000 – $38,000/Yr and requires relevant professional experience.

Preparatory Library Media Specialist Position

We are seeking a dedicated individual who shares our Christian values, is passionate about education, and possesses excellent communication, technical writing, and organizational skills. As a key member of our team, this role will provide the opportunity to grow and contribute to our mission.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the daily operations of the school library and computer lab to create a positive and engaging learning environment
  • Maintain and update library collections, ensuring they are organized and accessible to students and staff
  • Provide research and library support to students, including locating materials and using digital tools
  • Collaborate with teachers to recommend resources and integrate technology-based learning into instruction
  • Supervise computer lab scheduling, equipment usage, and student activity
  • Offer basic technology support to students and staff, including troubleshooting and equipment maintenance
  • Teach or assist with lessons on digital citizenship, research skills, and media literacy
  • Maintain a safe and respectful learning environment
  • Monitor inventory and coordinate repairs or replacements of library and computer lab equipment
  • Develop and promote reading programs, literacy events, and technology-based activities
  • Track circulation and maintain records for library systems
  • Enforce school policies related to library and computer lab behavior and technology use

Requirements

  • Committed Christian who demonstrates their faith in personal and professional interactions
  • Experience in library management and/or teaching, with a strong understanding of educational technology
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficient in the use of digital library systems and educational technology
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Library Science, or a related field

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, optimize time, and resources, ensuring high-quality work
  • High level of professionalism, organizational discipline, and adaptability in a changing environment
