About the role
Under the general supervision of the Health, Wellness, and Education Coordinator, the Library Coordinator establishes and operates a quality public library. This role provides leadership and serves as the library's primary public representative, expected to represent the library within the community, develop programs, develop collections, provide budgeting information, and manage library facilities.
Responsibilities
- Be familiar with and apply for adequate funding sources to sustain and grow the public library
- Establish operating procedures for the public library
- Responsible for any and all reporting requirements for grants or funding sources
- Plan, coordinate, and maintain services for citizens including professional development opportunities, Tewa language expansion, culturally-relevant materials, and strengthen collaborative relationships within Pueblo programs to expand support services
- Develop a library educational plan to meet the needs of families, leadership, and marginalized populations
- Assist patrons in the use of print materials, equipment, and technologies by answering questions, offering basic technical assistance, troubleshooting computer problems, assisting in navigating the Internet, and locating databases to help patrons use library resources
- Locate materials, answer questions, refer patrons to outside resources and collections when appropriate to provide information services
- Maintain capital assets inventory
- Assist with community events
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Ability to work flex hours as needed, including being on call

Minimum Qualifications
- Must pass a background and drug test
- Must have a valid New Mexico driver's license and be insurable through the Pueblo of Nambe
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Bachelor's degree or 3 years of progressively responsible administrative experience, including a broad background in management, administration, operations, and finance
- Knowledge of public library services and operation and of library collections
- Upon hiring, the library director is expected to earn Librarian Certification I
- Must be First Aid/CPR Certified or willing to obtain certification
- Willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
- Work includes prolonged sitting, as well as moderate lifting, carrying, reaching, stooping, pulling and pushing activities, manual dexterity, clear speech, and visual and hearing acuity
