Responsibilities
- Ensures required raw materials are available as needed and prepares them for usage.
- Assists in threading the laminator.
- Prepares finished good tags.
- Adjusts motors to required speeds.
- Tucks foam under platform, turns wind-up unit on until required yardage is achieved, stops unit, cuts foam, and removes rolls repetitively.
- Seals finished goods in plastic with hot iron and applies labels when required.
- Keeps area clean, organized, and operational.
- Monitors and ensures correctness of process and product specifications.
- Reads, understands, and complies with plant and company policies and procedures (e.g., S.O.P., S.E.P.), all written in English.
- Performs basic arithmetic, including decimals and fractions.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area throughout the shift in accordance with 5S standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Communicates with supervisor regarding non-conforming product.
- Stops production to correct quality problems.
- Works in extreme indoor temperatures, particularly hot conditions during summer months.
- Demonstrates awareness of environmental aspects and impacts.
- Lifts rolls over 6 lbs and pushes/pulls rolls using body weight (no lifting of rolls).
- Mentors new employees.
- Reports any inconsistencies or nonconformance in the product and participates in corrective/preventive actions.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is a plus but not required.
- Experience with laminators or similar equipment is an advantage.
- Basic mechanical skills to assist in threading the laminator and adjusting motors.
- Ability to read and understand product specifications and ensure compliance.
- Proficiency in basic arithmetic, including decimals and fractions.
- Ability to lift and move rolls over 6 lbs, using body weight to push and pull rolls as needed.
- Ability to work in extreme hot conditions, especially during summer months.
- Capability to stand, move, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in preparing raw materials, finished good tags, and sealing finished goods.
- Vigilance in monitoring and correcting quality issues during production.
- Effective communication skills to report non-conforming products and participate in corrective/preventive actions.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and operational work area, adhering to 5S standards.
- Willingness to mentor new employees and share knowledge.
- Collaborative attitude to work effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Ability to stop production to correct quality problems.
