About the Role

Provides professional nursing care, utilizing the nursing process. Upholds Kaiser Permanente’s policies and procedures, and collaborates with other departments to resolve issues. Demonstrates flexibility and supports the team through problem-solving and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a leader of the health care team, delegating tasks and holding team members accountable.
• Develops and implements individualized patient care plans, ensuring multidisciplinary collaboration and patient education.
• Maintains patient safety by monitoring for adverse events, managing pain, and educating patients and families about their care.
• Documents patient care accurately and in a timely manner, reflecting the nursing process and interventions.
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives and shares responsibility for the team's success.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, and standards of practice.
• Adapts to changes in systems and remains flexible to accommodate evolving healthcare needs.

Requirements

• 1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in acute care, ambulatory care, or home health/palliative/hospice care.
• Registered Nurse License (California).
• Basic Life Support certification.
• PICC didactic course and recent (within the past 3 years) PICC insertion experience may be required.
• If administering chemotherapy, a current ONS Provider Card or APHON is required.
