Job Summary
The Registered Nurse leads the health care team, providing professional nursing care according to established standards and policies. Demonstrating leadership and flexibility, the nurse collaborates with the team and adheres to regulatory requirements.
About the Role
Works in various healthcare settings such as Diagnostic Imaging/IR, PACU, ED, or Critical Care. Requires one year of recent full-time equivalent experience within the last three years. No formal education or certification is required, but experience in procedural sedation and familiarity with various diagnostic imaging modalities is essential.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a leader of the health care team, delegating tasks appropriately and demonstrating accountability.
- Champions new ideas and participates in problem-solving processes.
- Mentors and coaches team members, ensuring they meet performance standards.
- Develops and implements individualized patient care plans, monitoring progress and revising plans as necessary.
- Ensures patient safety, including medication administration, patient falls prevention, and infection control.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare providers to ensure clear understanding of care plans and discharge instructions.
- Participates in departmental performance improvement initiatives and shares responsibility for the team's success.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse License (California)
- Basic Life Support from American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- Procedural Sedation experience, including knowledge of medications and reversal agents
- Proficiency in I.V. therapy and familiarity with various diagnostic imaging modalities
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays
Qualifications
- No formal education or certification is required.
- One year of recent full-time equivalent experience in Diagnostic Imaging/IR, PACU, ED, or Critical Care.
