About the Role
TEAM is seeking an entry-level individual with a mechanical aptitude, keen to train and learn to become a Vapor Barrier Technician with cross-training opportunities in other services. This role requires a highly safety-focused individual with a strong work ethic, willing to attend training to perform certified activities.

Responsibilities
- Compliance with all safety procedures and job documentation.
- Execute vapor barrier isolation operations to ensure a safe hot work environment and weld integrity for welded piping connections at any facility or client site, following technician certification, company processes, and procedures to achieve or exceed quality expectations.
- Safely install vapor barrier isolation tools to ensure proper isolation where lines cannot be purged free of all gas vapors.
- Perform localized hydrostatic testing and partial system hydrostatic testing to ensure the integrity of welded connections.
- Execute isolation and hydrostatic weld testing services in accordance with approved site and company procedures.
- Directly responsible for the execution of services in line with site and team processes and procedures.
- Attend and complete required training to maintain and improve competence, skills, and knowledge.
- Identify circumstances requiring proper safety procedures and equipment.
- Document vapor barrier service records and activities as required.
Requirements
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
- Sufficient personal mobility to maneuver in a standard refinery or plant environment, including accessing elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells (except when performing non-field duties).
- Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, to communicate effectively.
- Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform investigations.
- Sufficient manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform routine office duties.
- Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform office duties and travel to off-site locations.
- Ability to maintain focus, multitask, and communicate effectively.
Work Conditions
- Position is based out of a TEAM field office or client site location.
- Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere.
- Interaction with crew employees, supervisors, and client personnel.
- Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels.
- Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
- May work at more than one job site in a day and must tolerate climate changes.
- May be required to travel out of town periodically.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Technical school, industry, or relevant training preferred.
- One or more years of experience is preferred.
- Driving License and TWIC Card preferred.
Pay
Anticipated compensation for this role is $62,400.00 – $72,800.00 per year plus benefits.
