About the role
Equal Games Industries (EGI) is looking for a Level Designer to join the team building [REDACTED], an original action game developed in Unreal Engine 5.8. The project has been in development for 6 months. You'll help shape mission spaces, encounter pacing, and player flow across a game built around a five-element combat system and a rich original sci-fi/fantasy world.
What You'll Do
- Design and block out mission spaces, encounter arenas, and traversal paths in Unreal Engine 5.8
- Build wave structures and enemy encounter pacing that showcase the elemental combat system
- Collaborate with narrative, art, and programming leads to align level layouts with lore and mission scripts
- Iterate on level flow based on playtesting feedback
- Contribute to level design documentation and folder/content structure standards
What We're Looking For
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine (Blueprint scripting a plus, but not required)
- An eye for pacing, encounter design, and spatial storytelling
- Comfort working from design docs, lore bibles, and asynchronous team collaboration
- Self-motivated — able to own a level or mission from greybox through polish
Portfolio or prior level design work (personal projects, mods, or professional) welcome, but not required — we're open to all experience levels
