About the role
HireArt is assisting an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company in hiring a Level 5 Vehicle Operator to test and validate the hardware and software on their autonomous vehicle, set to enter production soon.
Responsibilities
- Operate the L5 vehicle, supporting vehicle readiness and completing software and hardware tests.
- Represent the company as an ambassador to the public, adhering to the highest safety standards.
- Assist and interact with multiple teams across the company, including computer vision, infrastructure, sound design, strategy, vehicle engineering, and ride operations.
- Learn about the Level 5 autonomous platform and its workings, contributing to the company's and industry's future.
- Support the software team in executing key software operation tasks.
- Support missions through various roles, both inside and outside the vehicle.
- Document and capture metrics related to testing activities.
- Provide accurate written and oral feedback to engineering teams.
- Support the Mission Readiness team with basic vehicle maintenance, services, and repairs.
- Provide logistical support for the movement and storage of vehicles and equipment.
- Monitor devices during testing and troubleshoot issues as needed.
- Follow documented procedures and escalate issues to the test coordinator when necessary.
- Drive 4-8 hours a day, prioritizing safety.
Requirements
- Experience working with and troubleshooting complex technical systems.
- Excellent driving history and no criminal record.
- A valid driver's license and means of transportation to and from test sites.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive mindset and resourcefulness.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to maintain composure and handle frequent changes or unexpected disruptions.
- A proven track record of working independently, solving problems, and meeting deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a Linux environment.
- A degree in a technical discipline (e.g., engineering, IT, or any STEM field).
- Previous experience in AV or automotive/aviation industries.
- Previous military experience.

$34.00 USD per hour
Schedule
Available shifts: Friday-Tuesday, 3:00 PM-11:30 PM (Training: Mon-Fri, 3:00 PM-11:30 PM); Sunday-Thursday, 11:00 PM-7:30 AM (Training schedule TBD)
