LEO Adjunct Lecturer

Responsibilities*

The School of Music, Theatre & Dance seeks qualified applicants for an Adjunct lecturer position to co-direct the University of Michigan Percussion Ensemble during the 2026-2027 academic year. Students in the ensemble include undergraduate and graduate percussion majors who perform contemporary percussion repertoire and collaborate with lecturer on new creative projects.

- Effort % - 25%

- Start date of appt - 8/31/26

- Expected date of offer - 7/22/26

Desired Qualifications*

• Previous university-level experience coaching percussion ensembles
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to curate repertoire appropriate for the ensemble
• Works closely with the SMTD Percussion Faculty and the SMTD Concerts and Events team

Modes of Work

This position requires regular on-campus presence.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
