About the role

Lecture and laboratory components in undergraduate courses in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences for the fall and winter terms (8/28/2023 - 4/30/2024) up to 100% effort.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a broad range of introductory and upper-level courses including Introductory Geology, Introductory Geography, Introductory Environmental Science, GIS, Structural Geology, Mineral Resources and Sustainability, or Hydrogeology.
  • Prepare and deliver lectures and laboratory exercises.
  • Grade exams and homework assignments.
  • Supervise Graduate Student Instructors.
  • Grading of assignments, quizzes, and exams.
  • Meet with students during office hours.

Requirements

  • Holds an M.S. or Ph.D. (preferred) in Geology, Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience instructing geology or earth and environmental sciences to undergraduates at both the introductory and upper course levels is preferred.
  • Experience instructing laboratory courses and evidence of excellence in teaching are preferred.
