About the role

We are seeking a Legal Support Specialist to provide comprehensive support to our legal team. This role involves managing case files, coordinating with attorneys and clients, preparing legal documents, and ensuring efficient workflow within the practice.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, maintain, and update case files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist attorneys in drafting, reviewing, and filing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
  • Coordinate communication between attorneys, clients, courts, and external parties.
  • Schedule and manage appointments, hearings, depositions, and meetings.
  • Conduct legal research and compile relevant case law, statutes, and regulations.
  • Prepare and process invoices, expense reports, and billing documentation.
  • Monitor deadlines, court dates, and filing requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Provide general administrative support, including data entry, scanning, and document management.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in legal studies, paralegal studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a legal support role, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department.
  • Proficiency in legal software (e.g., Clio, LexisNexis, Westlaw) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in document preparation and review.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
