Position Summary
The Legal Support Specialist I (LSS I) provides administrative support to attorneys firm wide, collaborating with attorneys and other administrative personnel to deliver high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare legal correspondence, including printing, scanning, and converting documents.
- Aid in binder preparation, copy making, and data entry.
- Maintain and monitor dockets as needed.
- Process documents for mailing and ensure proper indexing and filing.
- Create and maintain original and electronic case files, using the Firm’s document management system.
- Retrieve and prepare case files for offsite storage or scanning according to Information Governance procedures.
- Schedule appointments, events, and travel.
- Manage workflow, prioritize tasks, and coordinate with other support services.
- Submit expense reimbursements and process invoices using correct GL coding in accounts payable system.
- Back-up reception coverage and provide additional support and coverage for the LSS II Team.
- Perform other clerical tasks and related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma required; Associate’s Degree preferred; Bachelor’s a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain composed and demonstrate tact in stressful situations.
- High degree of initiative in managing multiple priorities.
- Advanced computer skills including knowledge of Adobe, MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Knowledge of specific law firm programs a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Typing accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good organizational skills.
- Strong client service focus and effective teamwork.
- Self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision.
