About the role
This position serves in a student capacity and assists the Enforcement Division's Reconsideration Unit.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes various civil rights laws, including state and federal acts.
- Reviews investigative dismissal determinations and refusals to issue a certified complaint of discrimination to ensure compliance with the Michigan Administrative Code.
- Drafts appeal memorandums.
- Reviews and provides legal analysis of investigative reports.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must provide evidence of enrollment or acceptance to an educational institution.
- Must be enrolled in at least six credit hours per term and provide proof of enrollment at the start of each term.
- Cannot exceed 129 working hours in a calendar month.
- Appointment ends the month in which the student graduates or is no longer enrolled in school.
- Cannot exceed six years unless otherwise approved by Human Resources.
