About the role
This candidate will work closely with attorney(s) supporting registered variable and index-linked annuity products. This will include drafting, reviewing, and revising registration statements under the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Securities Act of 1933. This includes demonstrating competence with the prospectus content management process used to draft, review, and maintain such registration statements. This candidate will assist in reviewing legal issues relating to the development and marketing of registered variable and index-linked annuity products, including review of advertising materials and contract forms. This candidate will also aid in the implementation of new SEC rules applicable to variable and index-linked annuities. This role will act as a critical liaison with external business partners and outside counsel to facilitate the completion of tasks related to the development and maintenance of registered variable and index-linked annuity products. This role will assist other areas of Legal as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to attorney(s) and internal business partners on complex business matters principally relating to product development of variable and index-linked annuities. This includes the development and ongoing maintenance of SEC registration statements for variable and index-linked annuities.
- Assist in the review of issues relating to marketing of registered variable and index-linked annuity products, including review of advertising materials and contract forms.
- Provide additional support relating to the operations and issuance of variable and index-linked annuities. This includes review of operational forms, administrative procedures, and other operations necessary to support the issuance of such products.
- Utilize artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g. generative AI)
Requirements
2+ years’ of relevant industry and/or experience as a paralegal
Four-year degree or equivalent work experience required
Self-starter with the ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, multi-task and remain flexible in a fast-paced, changing environment
Detailed oriented, with strong organizational and communication skills
Qualifications
You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring immigration sponsorship now or in the future. This includes holders of H-1B, H4, L-1, L-2, TN, OPT, CPT, and other nonimmigrant visas
