Legal Specialist

About the role

We are seeking experienced US Legal Domain Experts specialising in Municipal & Administrative Law to support a legal research and AI training project. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of US federal, state, and local administrative frameworks, municipal governance, regulatory procedures, and public-sector legal matters.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and provide accurate, well-reasoned responses on US Municipal and Administrative Law.
• Analyse municipal codes, ordinances, regulations, administrative rules, agency decisions, and relevant case law.
• Evaluate legal issues involving local government authorities, municipalities, counties, public agencies, and administrative bodies.
• Research administrative procedures, rulemaking, licensing, permitting, enforcement, hearings, and appeals.
• Analyse the authority and jurisdiction of municipal and administrative agencies.
• Review and interpret federal, state, and local laws applicable to municipal governance.
• Provide clear explanations of complex legal concepts and distinguish between relevant jurisdictions where required.
• Identify and cite appropriate statutes, regulations, case law, administrative decisions, and other authoritative legal sources.
• Support the development, evaluation, and quality review of legal content used for AI/data training and evaluation.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy, legal reasoning, consistency, and attention to detail.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional legal experience in Municipal Law, Administrative Law, Local Government Law, or closely related practice areas.
• US Jurisdiction experience is mandatory.
• Candidates should be licensed to practise law in at least one US state or have equivalent professional legal qualifications relevant to the role.
• Strong understanding of US federal, state, and local legal frameworks.
• Excellent legal research, analytical, and written communication skills.
• Ability to interpret primary legal sources and provide well-supported conclusions.
• Experience working with legal databases and online legal research platforms.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify jurisdiction-specific differences.
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
• Prior experience in legal research, legal content review, AI training, legal data annotation, or similar projects is an advantage.
