Legal Secretary, Correctional Litigation
Job Duties
- Provides full range of legal and administrative support to 2-4 litigation attorneys.
- Includes typing, proofreading, and formatting legal documents, briefs, and correspondence.
- Involves filing, answering telephones, responding to citizen inquiries, and creating/maintaining legal databases.
- Manages docket/correspondence control for attorneys and record keeping.
- Might include backup responsibilities for case management database.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proficient in MS Word, including preparation of litigation documents such as briefs, memoranda, and correspondence.
- Typing skill of at least 65-70 words per minute (wpm).
- Demonstrates detail-oriented work and ability to work in an intense, litigation-deadline environment.
- Showcases ability to work independently and as a team player, covering others' work when necessary.
Additional Considerations
- Experience in LawBase, Excel, and Netdocs is desired but not required.
Pay
Range: $43,000 - $60,000, Commensurate with Experience
