About the role
The Legal Secretary plays a crucial role in Kentucky’s largest criminal defense firm, serving as a liaison between attorneys, clients, and the community.
Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between attorneys, clients, and the community.
- Draft and edit a variety of documents, requiring excellent communication skills.
- Manage multiple time-sensitive tasks, prioritizing and completing duties independently.
- Use Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Courtnet, and other court-related platforms.
- Handle client files, prepare correspondence, and perform data entry.
- Answer phones and greet clients as needed.
- Prepare and proofread legal documents for staff attorneys.
- Assist with other clerical tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- High school graduate.
- Four years of clerical experience.
- Additional education can substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
- Clerical experience can substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
Qualifications
- Pleasant, outgoing personality both in-person and on the phone.
- Compassion for clients and commitment to the organization's mission.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Time management skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Courtnet, and other court-related platforms.
Benefits
- Eligible for overtime pay.
Pay
Salary range: $2,705.80 - $4,058.76 monthly.
Schedule
Full-time position, 37.5 hours per week.
