About the role

We are seeking a Legal Research and Resource Analyst to provide firmwide legal research and resource support to attorneys and legal staff. This role is responsible for conducting legal and investigative research, monitoring legal developments, managing research resources and vendor relationships, and supporting training and onboarding initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal and investigative research related to case law, statutes, regulations, company information, litigation history, legal forms, and verdict searches
  • Utilize internal and external legal, business, and news resources to support attorneys and legal staff
  • Monitor complaints filed against firm clients and route information appropriately
  • Monitor court dockets and provide updates requested by attorneys
  • Monitor requests for proposals and provide supporting documentation as needed
  • Develop and deliver presentations and training on research tools and current developments
  • Conduct onboarding and orientation training for attorneys and paralegals
  • Cook up interlibrary loans and maintain library resources and inventory
  • Negotiate and maintain contracts with legal research and subscription vendors
  • Track vendor accounts, subscription renewals, and approve invoices
  • Evaluate AI-powered legal research tools and advise on workflow integration opportunities
  • Maintain knowledge of legal research technologies, trends, and best practices
  • Work collaboratively with practice group leaders and administrative leadership regarding resource needs
  • Complete special projects and additional assignments as needed

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Library Science and or JD preferred, or equivalent legal research experience in a law firm environment
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal research experience preferred
  • Experience with legal research platforms including Lexis, Westlaw, Law360, Accurint, PeopleMap, Business Credit Reports, DataTree, and similar services
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted legal research tools such as CoCounsel preferred
  • Strong understanding of legal research methodologies and library systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
  • Proficiency with technology and emerging legal research tools
  • Service-oriented mindset with strong collaboration skills and initiative
