About the role

The Legal Recruiting Business Partner will lead the recruitment and onboarding of lateral attorneys and legal professionals across multiple practice areas. The role requires strategic talent advising, partnership with firm leadership, and execution of hiring strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with practice leaders and business stakeholders to understand hiring needs and develop effective recruiting strategies.
  • Advise leadership on market trends, talent availability, compensation benchmarks, and competitive hiring practices.
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for experienced attorneys and legal professionals, including intake meetings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer negotiation, and onboarding.
  • Develop and maintain talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs.
  • Provide guidance on candidate evaluation, interview processes, and selection decisions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the recruitment process, ensuring a high-touch and positive experience.
  • Manage multiple concurrent searches while balancing competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Partner with recruiting coordinators and other team members to ensure smooth execution of recruiting activities.
  • Maintain accurate candidate records and reporting within applicant tracking and recruiting systems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve recruiting processes, workflows, and operational efficiencies.
  • Analyze recruiting metrics and market data to inform hiring strategies and identify trends.
  • Support broader talent acquisition initiatives, special projects, and department-wide programs.
  • Represent the organization professionally in both internal and external recruiting environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably within legal services, professional services, consulting, or another highly specialized industry.
  • Proven experience supporting experienced professional hiring and stakeholder management.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and advise senior leaders.
  • Exceptional customer service mindset and commitment to delivering a positive candidate experience.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple searches simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience leveraging recruiting data to drive decisions.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
  • Able to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams and business functions.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and recruiting technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel periodically as business needs require.
