Primary Responsibilities
- Perform secretarial functions associated with firm administrative tasks, including processing new client/matter requests, engagement letters, conflict checks, client bills, time reports and expense reports.
- Create, format, and edit a wide variety of legal documents including, pleadings and discovery. This includes proofreading and redlining work for accuracy.
- E-file in state, federal and appellate courts, utilizing knowledge of local rules and procedures for filing and calendaring.
- Schedule and support depositions, mediations, arbitrations, hearings and others.
- Demonstrate excellent organizational skills to efficiently manage case files, calendars, and travel.
- Maintain highly confidential information, files, records, legal documents, and reports.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of litigation secretary experience in a large law firm setting and a solid understanding of the litigation process.
- Proficient with online court filings in state and federal courts.
- Skilled with use of electronic document management systems.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work overtime, when needed.
Pay
California Pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on skillset and experience, is $100,000-$120,000.
