Legal Operations Manager
About the role
Elevate is recruiting a Manager to join our Legal Operations team. The Manager will be responsible for maintaining a complete and consistent experience for our large customers, providing program oversight and management, and ensuring quality, timeliness, and continuity.
Responsibilities
- Manage the company’s eBilling system (Team Connect and Onit experience a plus), including system administration, user access, matter setup, and reporting.
- Serve as the first-line approver of all outside counsel invoices, reviewing and auditing for compliance with Outside Counsel Guidelines, billing rules, and agreed rate structures.
- Identify billing discrepancies, requirement violations, and inefficiencies, and work directly with law firms to resolve issues.
- Partner with Legal Operations leadership to aid in tracking legal spend, accruals, and budget forecasting where necessary.
- Maintain and update billing requirements, rate approvals, and timekeeper approvals within the eBilling system.
- Support rate negotiations by maintaining rate data, historical trends, and benchmarking information.
- Collaborate with Finance on monthly and quarterly accruals and invoice processing.
- Train internal users and outside counsel on eBilling system requirements, invoice requirements, and best practices.
- Proactively recommend and implement system and process improvements to enhance efficiency, including automation, standardization, and thorough process documentation.
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in a law firm or in-house legal environment involving operations management, pricing, billing, scoping and managing significant legal services.
- Experience managing people.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Advanced Degree preferred.
Benefits
Compensation: US national salary range: $90,000-110,000, based on job-related skills, experience, level, and location. In addition, Elevate offers full-time employees a comprehensive benefits package and PTO.
