Responsibilities
- Aid in the prosecution of cases by assisting attorneys in preparation of criminal cases for trial.
- Conduct special investigations as assigned by the Commonwealth’s Attorney or designee.
Requirements
- Minimum Requirements:
- Two years of college with course work in political science, criminal justice, or a related field.
- Three to five years’ work experience in law enforcement.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the City of Hampton’s criteria.
- Must successfully pass a background check prior to any offer of employment or promotion.
- Additional Requirements:
- May require working non-standard hours including evenings, holidays and weekends.
- May require some local travel.
