About the role
The Legal Executive Assistant (LEA) supports lawyers by managing the daily functions of an attorney's practice, allowing them to focus on their practice development and client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Supports and manages attorney projects, ensuring deadlines are met and tasks are completed efficiently.
- Serves as a liaison between attorneys, clients, and internal departments, handling inquiries and relaying messages accurately.
- Develops and maintains professional relationships to ensure teams work together efficiently and effectively.
- Provides clear direction and constructive feedback on projects and assignments.
- Delegates assignments to LSAs (Legal Support Assistants) and ensures timely and accurate completion.
- Maintains electronic and paper filing systems, ensuring all work products are accessible and up-to-date.
- Conducts research on behalf of the attorney and practice group, compiles information for case preparation, and prepares presentations.
- Coordinates meeting planning and logistics, ensuring logistical and other critical details are in place.
- Manages billing matters, ensuring prebills are processed accurately and timely, and final bills are delivered in a timely manner.
- Schedules meetings, resolves conflicts, and organizes complex travel itineraries.
- Monitors attorney expenses and time entry, ensuring they are assigned to AskLegalSupport and processed correctly.
- Drafts, proofreads, and finalizes legal documents, ensuring accuracy of final work product.
- Delivers ongoing feedback and mentoring to LSAs, providing opportunities for continued improvement.

- Proven ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely, both in writing and verbally.

- Is a process-driven professional with excellent time management and the ability to prioritize tasks and multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Bachelor’s degree in legal studies, business administration, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience in an administrative role within a corporate or legal environment providing support to upper-level leadership.
Skills
- Expert experience with technology and Firm software.
- Proficiency in Firm’s standard production applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and third-party programs.
- Skilled in using research tools, case management software, accounting software, and AI-Powered Tools for document production, review, and case research.
- Flexible and willing to learn new skills and adapt to evolving needs of the attorney’s practice.
- Adaptable to virtual firm collaboration tools such as Zoom and Teams.
