Legal Counsel - Real Estate/Property Management
About the role
Lead and oversee complex affordable housing real estate transactions nationwide from letter of intent through closing.
Negotiate, draft, and review core and ancillary transaction documents, including partnership and operating agreements, guaranties, purchase options, loan agreements, leases and SNDAs.
Review and analyze property due diligence, including title, survey, zoning, condominium and environmental matters.
Advises the company on corporate and asset management matters, including amendments and modifications of existing LIHTC investments.
Handle special projects and other legal matters as assigned.
Requirements
A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active bar membership.
Strong knowledge of real estate law and property regulations.
Strong understanding of LIHTC.
Prior proven experience in reviewing and negotiating real estate contracts.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively in a team environment.
