Main Responsibilities
- Serve as an advisor to Head of Legal, US and the rest of the Legal Department.
- Provide accurate, timely, and well-reasoned advice on legal matters and keep employees advised on key changes to laws impacting the organization.
- Provide legal services, including preparation, drafting, and negotiation of legal documents for commercial as well as corporate transactions.
- Support the build out and ramp up of manufacturing site in South Carolina.
- Closely collaborate with Human Resources on employment law related matters.
- Carry out corporate governance, compliance, and secretarial responsibilities, including but not limited to filing for and maintaining business and company registrations in the United States, and maintain legal documents and corporate records.
- Cover legal and project work of other attorneys, paralegals, and outside counsels in support of multiple cross-jurisdictional or cross-site programs as needed.
- Represent SHL Medical in domestic and international merger and acquisition transactions, post-closing integration, and re-organization.
- Structure, implement, and monitor appropriate internal policies and global legal and compliance trainings for management and employees of the organization.
- Support the short-term and long-term goals of the Legal Department and the organization.
- Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Legal, US or the Chief Legal Officer.
Skills and Qualification
- Must be licensed to practice law in the state of South Carolina.
- Must have 3 to 6 years of diverse PQE, including law firm or in-house experience.
- Background in medical device and/or pharmaceutical industry, health regulatory environment, and intellectual property licensing and management is a plus.
- Experienced in working in diverse, cross-cultural working environment with people from all over the world.
- Ability to operate successfully in a constantly changing, fast-paced environment and to complete multiple tasks in a timely and accurate manner independently or to collaborate with others.
