Legal Billing Specialist
Our client is a well-established, nationally recognized litigation firm founded in Texas in the mid-1990s by trial attorneys with a strong reputation for handling high-profile, complex cases. The firm is known for its courtroom expertise and has built a national client base, with multiple offices across Texas and the Southwest.
About the Position
The firm is seeking a Legal Billing Specialist to support billing and collection activities for assigned clients, practice groups, and billing attorneys, with the majority of the workload centered on e-billing. This is a great opportunity for someone with solid law firm billing experience who wants to join a stable, collaborative team with a strong reputation and room to grow.
This particular opening is with the firm's billing team in Dallas—a small, close-knit group of billing specialists growing from four to five people due to increased workload. Responsibilities
- Perform routine data processing and input for billing and collections systems
- Update internal systems for opening matters to ensure accurate data across systems
- Process transfers and edits to ensure accuracy of rates, narratives, time/expense records, and matter identification for pre-bills and invoices
- Process and distribute pre-bills and invoices to billing attorneys and clients
- Monitor invoice status, document A/R and unbilled inventory, and follow up to support timely collections
- Identify and help resolve billing/collections issues before they become bigger problems
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on billing experience in a law firm environment, including electronic billing experience across multiple e-billing systems
- Experience with insurance clients (split billing, complex billing arrangements) a plus
- Aderant Expert software experience REQUIRED
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable working with people at all levels of the firm
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; able to work independently and follow through on open items
- Comfortable in a deadline-driven environment and adaptable to client-specific billing guidelines and platform changes

Pay
$65,000 - $85,000 per year
