Schedule: Hybrid - 2 days work-from-home per week
About the Opportunity
This is a temp-to-hire Legal Assistant position with a well-established litigation firm's Austin office. The temp period allows both the firm and the candidate to ensure it's the right long-term fit before converting to a permanent role. The office has a tenured support staff team and is looking to add a junior-level team member with room to grow. This is a strong opportunity for someone early in their legal support career who's looking to build a long-term path within a firm that invests in its people.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administrative and case support to attorneys
- Draft and proofread correspondence, pleadings, and case-related documents
- Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, and court/discovery schedules
- Cooky filings (including e-filing) and maintain organized case files
- Support discovery processes, including document management and production
- Communicate professionally with clients, insurers, courts, and opposing counsel
- Assist with scheduling depositions, mediations, and hearings
- Perform general office and administrative duties as needed
Requirements
- Prior legal admin assistant, or administrative experience preferred (litigation experience a plus, but not required)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Comfortable managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; comfort learning firm case management/e-filing systems
- Must be a team-player
