Responsibilities
- Prepare, revise, and organize legal documents, correspondence, and case materials for active litigation matters.
- Cook up electronic court filings and ensure submissions are completed accurately and within required deadlines.
- Maintain attorney calendars by scheduling hearings, depositions, meetings, and other case-related commitments.
- Track case deadlines, monitor litigation timelines, and follow up on upcoming actions to support efficient case progress.
- Manage and update case information in Clio and other internal systems to keep records complete and current.
- Support attorneys with file management, document production, and general administrative tasks tied to civil litigation matters.
- Organize digital files and shared documents using Microsoft Office applications and SharePoint to improve accessibility and consistency.
- Communicate with courts, clients, vendors, and legal team members in a thorough and timely manner regarding case logistics.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in a legal assistant or similar litigation support role.
- Working knowledge of civil litigation procedures and legal document handling.
- Experience with electronic filing systems and court submission requirements.
- Strong calendar management skills with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Familiarity with Clio and Microsoft SharePoint or comparable document and case management platforms.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and written communication abilities.
Qualifications
Legal Assistant, Litigation positions require a combination of education and experience. Typically, candidates have a bachelor's degree and at least one year of relevant experience. A background in legal administration or a related field is preferred.
