About the role

Cullen and Dykman LLP is a full-service law firm founded in 1850. The Firm is dedicated to excellence, collaboration, and professional growth, expanding its capabilities across various practice areas. The Albany office seeks a full-time Legal Assistant to join the Corporate Practice Group.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and organizational support to multiple attorneys within the energy, corporate, and labor and employment practice areas.
  • Prepare, edit, and file pleadings, motions, affidavits, answers, discovery documents, and other legal correspondence related to State and Federal Court filings and administrative regulation matters.
  • Maintain and manage calendars, including filing deadlines and scheduling matters.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, internal staff, and external parties.
  • Maintain and organize electronic and physical files, schedules, and matter-related information.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing communications, including mail, emails, calls, and case-related materials.
  • Assist attorneys and staff with day-to-day tasks, ensuring timely and accurate completion of assignments.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a law firm setting.
  • Experience with New York State Public Service Commission and/or State and Federal Court filing procedures and rules, though not required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
  • High proficiency with Adobe software and document management.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize, work independently, and manage competing deadlines.
  • Professional judgment, problem-solving ability, and strong decision-making skills.
  • Proactiveness, resourcefulness, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with internal and external clients.

Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work overtime, as necessary.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary, an excellent benefits package, and a collaborative, friendly work environment. Salary range: $55,000 – $65,000. Actual salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.
