Responsibilities

  • Draft and e-file pleadings and correspondence
  • File and e-file documents in State, Federal, and Appellate Courts
  • Create Table of Contents and Table of Authorities for motions
  • Schedule depositions, hearings, and conference calls
  • Research using Westlaw
  • Cookordinator attorney travel arrangements
  • Assist with trial preparation
  • Aid attorneys with daily administrative tasks
  • Aid with document management and file organization

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience as a litigation legal assistant
  • PREFERRED: Insurance defense and/or personal injury experience
  • Solid understanding of civil litigation (state, federal, and appellate calendar deadlines and rules)
  • Experience with state, federal, and appellate court filings in California
  • High proficiency in MS Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to think and act independently and with minimal supervision
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Manage a diverse workload and adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Work collaboratively within a team environment under tight deadlines
  • Articulate, organized, and a team player with excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Professional appearance and demeanor

Compensation Package

  • Hourly pay range of $38-46/hour, depending on experience
  • Overtime paid at 1.5× the regular hourly rate, as needed
