About the role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Paralegal to support a busy family law office in Allen, Texas. This Long-term Contract opportunity is fully onsite and offers the chance to play a key role in welcoming new clients, coordinating intake activities, and keeping daily administrative work organized.
Responsibilities
- Welcome prospective clients, collect intake details, and ensure information is recorded accurately from the start of the engagement process.
- Update and maintain client records in Clio, keeping case-related data organized, current, and easy for the legal team to access.
- Provide day-to-day administrative assistance to attorneys and office staff, including general clerical support and coordination tasks.
- Organize physical and electronic client files so documents, correspondence, and records remain properly maintained.
- Handle confidential legal and personal information with discretion at all times.
- Contribute to smooth front-office operations by responding to inquiries and helping create a positive experience for clients and visitors.
- Assist with calendar-related coordination and general office follow-up to support the team's workflow.
- Support legal operations as needed with filing-related and document management activities in a busy office setting.
Requirements
- Prior experience in a legal assistant, administrative support, receptionist, or client intake role is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Comfort using Clio or another legal case management platform, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and general office software tools.
- Excellent organizational skills and close attention to detail when handling records and client information.
- Ability to manage responsibilities independently while adapting to a fast-paced onsite office environment.
- Detail-oriented demeanor, dependable work habits, and confidence interacting with clients in a legal setting.
- Experience in a law firm environment or familiarity with family law or litigation support is a plus.
