Legal Assistant
Responsibilities
- Prepare, format, and submit court-related documents with a high level of accuracy and attention to deadlines.
- Maintain organized electronic case records in SharePoint and ensure legal files are easy to access and up to date.
- Cook up calendars for the legal team, including hearings, meetings, and other time-sensitive commitments.
- Aid with drafting, editing, and finalizing legal correspondence, forms, and other case documents.
- Support client intake by helping gather preliminary information and identifying matters appropriate for legal review.
- Develop office procedures, reference materials, and internal memos to improve consistency across the department.
- Help keep daily legal operations on track by monitoring tasks, following up on priorities, and supporting overall office organization.
- Provide light logistical support for meetings or departmental events as needed.
Requirements
- Experience supporting legal teams in an administrative or legal assistant capacity.
- Working knowledge of court filing procedures, including electronic filing.
- Familiarity with civil litigation processes and legal document handling.
- Strong calendar management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Proficiency with document organization tools such as SharePoint or similar systems.
- Ability to communicate clearly and handle intake-related interactions professionally.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
