About the role
This prominent Texas firm is looking for a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support a busy legal team handling commercial real estate matters in Dallas, Texas. This position plays a key role in preparing transaction documents, coordinating closing and post-closing activities, and helping attorneys and paralegals keep matters moving efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate transaction closings by assembling final documents, confirming completion details, managing electronic uploads, and maintaining organized closing records.
- Create and update closing binder indexes to ensure executed materials are accurately tracked and easy to reference.
- Handle post-closing tasks such as preparing custodial packages, distributing completed binders, processing mailings, and monitoring receipt of outstanding title and closing items.
- Collaborate closely with attorneys, paralegals, and legal support staff to gather, review, and finalize documentation required for real estate deals.
- Support the preparation of title-related materials and assist with related document organization for active matters.
- Prepare signature page packages and help coordinate execution of transaction documents.
- Compile loan summaries and complete due diligence questionnaires using matter-specific information and supporting files.
- Assist with the coordination of post-closing projects and provide additional administrative and legal support as needed.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of legal support experience, preferably within a law firm environment.
- Background supporting commercial real estate matters, including transactions, title documentation, or leasing-related work.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, with working knowledge of Excel.
- Experience using Adobe Acrobat to create, edit, organize, and manage legal documents.
- Familiarity with document management platforms; experience with NetDocuments is beneficial.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively across legal teams.
- Excellent organizational skills, close attention to detail, and the ability to manage shifting priorities and deadlines.
