Legal Assistant

Puget Sound Energy's Legal Department is looking for a proactive, highly organized Legal Assistant who takes pride in providing exceptional service. What You'll Do
- Manage Legal Department files and electronic records
- Process invoices and expenses and assist with budget administration
- Coordinate calendars, meetings, events, and travel
- Draft, edit, proofread, format documents, presentations, and spreadsheets
- Support legal operations and workflow improvement projects
- Assist with bankruptcy notices or claims and other administrative needs
- Anticipate attorney needs, manage deadlines, and protect confidential and privileged information
- Uphold safety compliance standards inherent in PSE's operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities
- Promote and support a culture of total safety
- Demonstrate commitment to conduct business honestly, ethically, and consistent with our core values and Code of Conduct
- Ensure duties are performed in accordance with all regulatory compliance obligations
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the management and organization of the Legal Department's files, including maintenance of legal electronic records management system
- Develops and maintains library organization system, in cooperation with others in the Legal Department
- Assists with processing bankruptcy notices or claims
- Assists with budget preparation and financial administration, including processing invoices from vendors and outside firms, as well as internal expenses
- Manages applicable department personnel's calendars and scheduling, including meeting and event coordination
- Supports legal operations and workflow improvement projects and tasks
- Provides document drafting, editing, proofreading, and formatting support
- Prepares PowerPoint presentations and Excel spreadsheets and other materials
- Coordinates travel for applicable Legal department personnel
- Performs all other administrative functions as needed
- Anticipates attorney needs and managing deadlines
- Maintains confidentiality of all corporate or other private, personal, or privileged information
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Three (3) years of experience as a legal assistant
- Experience with legal electronic records management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented, especially as to accounting or financial information
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in an in-house legal department or corporate setting
- Knowledge of the utility or energy industry, records retention practices, or SAP
- Experience supporting regulatory, compliance, environmental, litigation, governance, or corporate law matters
- Knowledge of records management and retention practices
Pay
The pay range for this position is $59,300.00 - $92,100.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
