About the role
The successful candidate will join one of our several practice groups specializing in Commercial Litigation, Employment, Community Association, and overall civil litigation matters. This is an on-premises position with endless growth potential at an AM 200 Law Firm.
Responsibilities
- Work with Case Management and Document management using Litify, iManage and Microsoft Outlook
- E-file legal documents in Florida’s E-Portal System
- Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, trials and conferences
- Draft legal court documents, such as notices, non-technical motions, affidavits and subpoenas
- Send correspondence to parties/non-parties via email, regular mail, or certified mail
- Communicate with opposing counsel, judicial assistants, court reporters, clients, etc.
- Set up Court Call, Teams or Zoom for hearings
- Perform additional duties as required by Managing Attorney/Office Manager
Requirements
- 2+ years of litigation experience in a law firm setting
- Experience e-filing in both state and federal courts
- Exceptional tech savviness, organizational skills, ability to perform well within a team environment, and communicate professionally with clients and opposing counsel
- Extensive experience scheduling, drafting legal documents, and maintaining attorneys’ calendars with exceptional accuracy
- Previous experience with scheduling depositions, pre-depositions, meetings, mediations, and hearings using a variety of ancillary systems and programs is a huge plus
Qualifications
- Knowledge of case management systems, familiarity with L & A codes, billing software, and proven competency to capture time and bill according to guidelines in a timely manner
- Ability to multi-task and stay calm under pressure of multiple deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, exceptional common sense, possess meticulous attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
- Detail oriented, work well under pressure, along with a positive, pleasant disposition, have an exceptional attendance record and have demonstrated a stable job tenure of two or more years in each position
Skills
- Proficiency with Litify, iManage, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe
- Experience with e-filing in state and federal courts
- Strong organizational and calendaring skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel
- Experience with scheduling and managing depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings
