About the role
The California Teachers Association (CTA) Legal Department seeks an administrative assistant to support its attorneys and programs. This role provides legal secretarial and administrative support under minimal supervision, exercising independent judgment, initiative, and strong analytical skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal secretarial and administrative support to attorneys
- Exercise independent judgment and initiative in supporting legal operations
- Conduct routine legal research and draft legal documents
- Administer department programs and collaborate with attorneys and colleagues
Requirements
- Exceptional organizational abilities
- Solid knowledge of court rules and administrative agency procedures
- Confidence to independently draft legal documents and conduct legal research
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a legal setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures

Pay
$80,000 - $100,000 annually
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
