Job Responsibilities
- Process garnishments/writs of execution (tax and civil) and child support levies/liens accurately, timely, and in adherence with all applicable state and federal laws, rules and regulations.
- Research and analyze whether it is appropriate to honor garnishment/writ/levy and whether available accounts can be garnished.
- Charge customer accounts the proper fee where required.
- Freeze customer accounts as necessary and debit customer accounts to pay garnishment/levy when required.
- Draft appropriate responses and send required correspondence to requesting parties and customers.
- Utilize and appropriately update the WSFS legal documents processing application to accurately reflect actions taken and the status of a particular writ/garnishment/lien/levy.
- Communicate with all parties involved (internal and external) regarding inquiries concerning these document types.
- Answer legal-banking inquiries from branch Associates.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate/Bachelor’s degree or minimum of one year of legal documents processing experience, preferably in banking or financial services industry required.
- Understanding of legal terminology required.
- Knowledge of bank records, bank products and retrieval procedures preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent typing skills.
- Ability to operate effectively under pressure, work independently, and provide advice/make decisions as appropriate.
- Ability to deal discreetly with confidential information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with customers, attorneys, governmental agencies and bank Associates.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight time constraints.
