Responsibilities
- Evaluate, pilot, and implement AI-powered tools for legal research, contract review, and document analysis, ensuring each solution meets firm standards for accuracy, security, and utility.
- Partner with attorneys, paralegals, and legal operations staff to identify high-value AI use cases, gathering requirements and translating them into actionable technology initiatives.
- Design and deliver structured AI training and onboarding programs that enable legal staff to use AI tools confidently, competently, and in accordance with established guidelines.
- Monitor the ongoing performance, accuracy, and reliability of deployed AI tools, flagging issues and coordinating remediation with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Conduct thorough vendor assessments and manage ongoing relationships with AI solution providers.
- Author and maintain documentation, operational playbooks, and best practice guides that support consistent, responsible AI tool usage across the firm.
- Track and synthesize developments in the legal AI landscape, including generative AI and large language models, to inform firm strategy and tool roadmap decisions.
Requirements
- Deep familiarity with AI and machine learning tools applied to legal workflows, including platforms such as Harvey, Legora, Claude, Copilot, and Lexis Protege, as well as general-purpose large language model interfaces.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to systematically evaluate competing tools, weigh trade-offs, and make clear, evidence-based recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to assess AI-generated outputs for accuracy, potential bias, and overall reliability.
- Proficiency with legal research tools and platforms, including familiarity with how AI capabilities are being integrated into established legal research workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; a Juris Doctor (JD), advanced degree in a relevant field, or recognized certification in AI, data analytics, or legal technology is strongly preferred.
- Three to five years of professional experience in legal operations, legal technology, law firm administration, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated experience implementing, managing, or overseeing AI tools in a professional setting, with the ability to speak concretely to outcomes and lessons learned.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and familiarity with widely used legal technology platforms, including practice management, e-discovery, or document management systems.
