Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking a Legal Administrative Coordinator (LAC) to support the Litigation practice group in its Downtown Los Angeles, CA office. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days in-office and 2 days remote work. Flexibility with overtime is required.

About the role

Reporting to the Administrative Support Manager, this position provides a broad range of administrative, secretarial, and document processing support to assigned Practice Groups in an environment where superior client service is emphasized.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly utilize Task Delegation and Workflow Management software (BigHand) to receive, enter, and update assignments; communicate task status and developments to supervisor(s) through BigHand or directly, and proactively seek additional information or guidance when needed.
  • Assist with word processing; edit and proofread correspondence, memorandums, reports, and other general communications.
  • Answer phones, take messages, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings; arrange audio and video conferences; reserve conference rooms and manage setups.
  • Maintain attorney calendars, advise attorneys of appointments, update attorney address books, and manage InterAction entries.
  • Assist with time entry.
  • Process new business intake, related forms, and correspondence.
  • Process expense reports and invoices; arrange check requests and monitor through completion.
  • Arrange travel and prepare itineraries; maintain attorney travel and desk profiles.
  • Coordinate or assist with printing, scanning, copying, and sending documents.
  • Provide legal research, case support, and project assistance.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least two (2) years of administrative support experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous law firm experience required.
  • Experience supporting a Litigation practice, including knowledge of State and Federal Court rules and filing procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF software.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to work autonomously while functioning effectively in a team environment.
  • Exhibit strategic thinking and initiative in handling assignments and projects.
  • Work productively and effectively with all personnel as part of a client service team.
  • Demonstrate excellent client communication skills.

Pay

The salary range for this position in Los Angeles, CA is $75,038.00 - $97,475.00. The final base salary will be determined based on factors such as prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The total compensation package may also include medical, financial, and other benefits (e.g., 401(k) eligibility, paid time off for vacation, sick time, and parental leave).
