About the role
The Department of Nutritional Sciences is seeking a Part-time Lecturer to teach the undergraduate course, Community Nutrition (11:709:441; 3 credits), during the Fall 2025 semester.
Responsibilities
- Teach the course on the study of teaching, science, evaluation, and politics of community nutrition as well as programs and agencies designed to improve the nutritional status of various populations.
- Work with students who have prerequisites including introductory nutrition and lifespan nutrition.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in nutrition.
- At least 5 years of recent community nutrition experience.
- Experience in federal programs delivering nutrition education to members of the community (e.g., SNAP-Ed, EFNEP, WIC).
- Teaching undergraduate seniors or graduate university level courses addressing the course content.
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness.
- Experience teaching in-person and quickly transitioning to online instruction during public health calamities.
Qualifications
- Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist (RDN) credential preferred.
Skills
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to engage with diverse student populations.
- Outreach and community engagement experience.
