About the role

The Department of Nutritional Sciences is seeking a Part-time Lecturer to teach the undergraduate course, Community Nutrition (11:709:441; 3 credits), during the Fall 2025 semester.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the course on the study of teaching, science, evaluation, and politics of community nutrition as well as programs and agencies designed to improve the nutritional status of various populations.
  • Work with students who have prerequisites including introductory nutrition and lifespan nutrition.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in nutrition.
  • At least 5 years of recent community nutrition experience.
  • Experience in federal programs delivering nutrition education to members of the community (e.g., SNAP-Ed, EFNEP, WIC).
  • Teaching undergraduate seniors or graduate university level courses addressing the course content.
  • Demonstrated teaching effectiveness.
  • Experience teaching in-person and quickly transitioning to online instruction during public health calamities.

Qualifications

  • Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist (RDN) credential preferred.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to engage with diverse student populations.
  • Outreach and community engagement experience.
