About the role
The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Cybersecurity role is based in Sydney, NSW, Australia. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary range depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the advancement of research and education in cybersecurity and AI security.
- Conduct research in areas such as security and privacy of AI systems, adversarial machine learning, model and data privacy, secure AI deployment, LLM and agent security, and AI safety.
- Develop secure, trustworthy, and privacy-preserving intelligent systems.
- Deliver high-quality teaching and curriculum development across undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
- Support student learning and development, particularly from diverse backgrounds.
Requirements
- A PhD in a related discipline, or relevant work experience.
- Proven commitment to staying updated with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Experience in teaching and learning design, development, and delivery at various levels.
- Experience using and designing with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence.
- Experience with industry or work-integrated learning (optional).
- Ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
Qualifications
- A PhD in a related discipline, or relevant work experience.
- Proven commitment to staying updated with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Experience in teaching and learning design using a range of pedagogical approaches.
- Experience implementing educational technologies and online delivery methods.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence and fostering this in others.
- Success in initiating curriculum development and improvement.
- Experience with industry or work-integrated learning.
- Ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
- Track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact.
- Experience in recruiting and supervising high-calibre students.
- Experience working in a team, collaborating across disciplines, and building effective relationships.
- Highly developed interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to interact with the profession and industry and attract funding for learning and teaching initiatives.

Pay
Lecturer (Level B): AUD $127,947 to $150,830 per annum + 17% superannuation
Senior Lecturer (Level C): AUD $155,403 to $178,290 per annum + 17% superannuation
