About the role

Part-time lecturer position for Fall 2026 to teach PSCI 331: World Political Systems, a comparative analysis of political behavior and institutions in global political systems of different types.

Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. In-person instruction.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver lectures and facilitate discussions on comparative political systems.
  • Assess student performance through assignments, exams, and other evaluations.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in political science (minimum qualification).
  • Employment is contingent upon working in the State of California; the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Political Science (preferred).
  • Experience teaching in higher education, specifically in Comparative Politics.
  • Demonstrated intercultural competence and commitment to serving a diverse campus community.

Pay

Anticipated hiring salary range: $5,507 – $8,000 per full-time month, commensurate with education and experience. Salary schedule for Lecturer classifications:

  • Lecturer A – Academic Year: $5,507 – $6,677 per full-time month.
  • Lecturer B – Academic Year: $6,221 – $13,224 per full-time month.

The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range.
