About the role

The School of Nursing at California State University San Marcos accepts applications on an ongoing basis for part-time lecturers in Psychiatric/Mental Health courses.

Responsibilities

• Teach and assess students to meet course learning outcomes and clinical hours.
• Model professional nursing behavior and communicate effectively with clinical agencies and colleagues.
• Supervise students in clinical settings and assist them in mastering course material.
• Collaborate with clinical agencies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Assist in course and program development, research, and committee work.

Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
• Bronx Nursing (BRN) Faculty requirement: Psych/Mental Health nursing work experience within the last 5 years.
• One year's continuous, full-time or its equivalent experience providing direct patient care as a registered nurse in the designated nursing area.
• One academic year of registered nurse level clinical teaching experience in the designated nursing area or its equivalent.
• State licensure by California Board of Registered Nursing.
• Current immunizations and CPR licensure.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Nursing (DNP, PhD, or EdD with emphasis on Nursing Education).
• Demonstrated intercultural competence with distinct groups in teaching.

Skills

• Effective face-to-face instruction and assessment techniques.
• Use of computer and application-based technologies.
• Utilization of SoN resources to ensure student success.
• Interpersonal relations and collaboration with colleagues.
