The Department of Psychology at California State University San Marcos accepts applications on an ongoing basis for its pool of part-time lecturers for courses in Psychological Science and Child and Adolescent Development (CHAD).

About the role

This position is part of the Academic Year 2026/2027 and is open for appointments lasting from one day to a whole semester. The applicant pool may be used to fill vacant positions on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year. Applications in this pool are only valid for the current academic year. For future academic years, applicants should apply to the new pool by June 15th.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A master's degree in Psychology or a relevant field
  • Successful experience teaching at the college level

Preferred Qualifications

  • A doctorate in Psychology or a relevant field
  • Higher education experience teaching a particular class
  • Research experience relevant to the specific course content
  • Demonstrated intercultural competence and a commitment to serving the campus community

Salary

Salary is commensurate with degree level and experience. The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.

Requirements

Applicants will be required to disclose whether they have received a final administrative decision or final judicial decision determining that they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years only after a determination is made that they meet the minimum qualifications for the position, and before an offer of employment is extended. Applicants who reach the final stages of the application process must also sign a release form that authorizes the release of information by the applicant’s current and/or former employers to the CSU concerning any substantiated allegations of misconduct.
