Lecturer Pool - Philosophy AY 2026/27
California State University San Marcos accepts applications on an ongoing basis for part-time Lecturer positions in the Department of Philosophy. Appointments may last from one day to a full semester and are used to fill short-term, temporary vacancies as needed throughout the 2026/27 academic year. Applications in this pool are valid only for the current academic year and will close on May 31st.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in philosophy or a closely related field (required)
- Doctorate or terminal degree in philosophy or a closely related field (preferred)
- Experience teaching undergraduate courses in Philosophy or related fields (preferred)
- Demonstrated intercultural competence and commitment to serving the campus community in teaching and service (preferred)
Per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, employment is contingent upon working in the State of California.
Pay
Anticipated hiring salary range: $5,507 – $8,000 per full-time month, commensurate with degree level and experience. Salary ranges by classification:
- Lecturer A – AY: $5,507 – $6,677 per full-time month
- Lecturer B – AY: $6,221 – $13,224 per full-time month
The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range.
