Lecturer Pool - History AY 2026/2027
California State University San Marcos invites applications on an ongoing basis for its pool of part-time lecturers in the Department of History for the 2026/2027 academic year. Appointments may range from a single day to a full semester and are used to fill short-term temporary vacancies as needed.
About the Role
This lecturer pool supports the College of Humanities, Arts, Behavioral and Social Sciences. Applications remain active for the current academic year only and will close on May 31st. Candidates wishing to be considered for the following academic year must reapply by June 15th.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or terminal degree in History or a closely related field (required).
- Employment is contingent upon working within the State of California; the CSU does not hire employees to perform work outside California.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated intercultural competence and a commitment to serving the campus community through teaching and, where applicable, service.
Pay
Monthly salary ranges for full-time appointments:
- Lecturer A – Academic Year: $5,507 – $6,677
- Lecturer B – Academic Year: $6,221 – $13,224
The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, based on education and experience.
