Lecturer of Forestry
Job Summary
The Department of Forest Resources, housed within the School of Agriculture and Natural Resources, seeks applicants for a Lecturer of Forest Resources. This is a 10-month nontenure track position.
About the Role
This position involves teaching undergraduate courses in support of the BS in Natural Resource Management, developing partnerships with commodity and industry organizations, and working effectively as a member of a faculty team to continually update and improve the content of courses and degree programs in the department. Specific teaching assignments will depend on the successful candidate’s experience and area of interest. Courses may include but are not limited to Forest Hydrology and Wetlands Management, Geographic Information Systems, Dendrology, Wildlife Ecology and Management I, Forest Mapping and Orienteering, and Herbaceous Plant Communities.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses in support of the BS in Natural Resource Management.
- Develop partnerships with commodity and industry organizations.
- Work effectively as a member of a faculty team to continually update and improve the content of courses and degree programs in the department.
- Work with the community and college on initiatives and activities that enhance the student learning experience and community relationships and promote student engagement.
Requirements
- An earned Master’s in Forestry, Wildlife Management, or closely related discipline (degree must be completed by start date of employment).
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to use current technology in support of instructional activities.
- A primary interest in and firm commitment to undergraduate education.
- The ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, administrators, alumni, and industry stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work with industry stakeholders and other related groups in developing and promoting activities that enhance the student learning experience, promote student engagement, and enhance community and industry relationships.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
Schedule
The schedule for this position is 10 months per year.
