Lecturer (Module Leader): MA Marketing & Digital Communications (Online)
About the role
Falmouth University is currently seeking an ambitious and energetic Lecturer and practitioner to join our team and play a key role in the successful delivery our course MA Marketing and Digital Communication (Online) delivered by Falmouth University. You will be responsible to the Course Leader and will support the Course Leader in design and delivery of modules and assessment, coordinating teaching/support delivered by its staff.
The MA Marketing and Digital Communication (Online) is a successful course that has been designed to develop marketing and digital communications practitioners, who can meet the demands of a global and digitally transformed marketplace, with innovative flair and creative problem-solving. The student body is a thriving international one and we have alumni who return to us to report on careers in advertising, marketing, branding and research-led projects into consumer trends.
'Learning by doing' is the principle of all the learning and assessment on this programme. Students are invited to bring their professional experience, their cultural knowledge and their real work projects into their studies, as part of workshops and assessments. Students can find themselves working on a 'live client brief' from a real advertising pitch or joining a discussion on the cultural differences of social media in India compared to the UK, for example. As such, the coursework is wide ranging: reports, campaigns, concepts, new emerging technologies, global trends, consumer behaviour responses and data driven marketing ideas.
Responsibilities
- Working with the Online Team and Digital Learning to design and develop academic content for the MA's modules
- Conducting assessment and feedback
- Delivering learning design and quality assurance
- Managing tutors
- Monitoring and supporting students
- Deputisation for the Course Leader, where needed
Requirements
- Experience in teaching in academia at HE level
- Proven ability to inspire students through innovative and online pedagogies
- Specialist insight and professional expertise in marketing, problem-solving and strategic planning
- Highly organised and able to manage time efficiently to work to production and delivery schedules
- Experience of producing asynchronously online learning materials such as pre-recorded lectures
- Confident with using virtual learning environments
- Up-to-date awareness of current trends, theories and critical debates informing contemporary marketing and the digital media landscape
- Evidence of a strong CV as a marketer and/or academic which may include research
- Good network of professionals in the marketing communications industry
- Outstanding educator, practitioner and communicator who can work independently and also part of a team
- Based in the UK
- Able to commence in the role on 14 September 2026
Skills
- Comprehensive and current knowledge of marketing communications
- Experience and engagement in curriculum development and quality assurance processes
- Demonstrable professional practice and/or Knowledge Transfer
- Strong relationships with industry and ability to develop partnerships, projects and employment opportunities for staff and students
Pay
This is a permanent, part-time, 17.5 hours per week role across Monday-Friday with flexibility in hours with some evening provision. Due to the online nature of this role, it can be worked remotely.
